Enduring Legacy
Cuttington University is an institution of higher learning closely tied to the Episcopal Church since 1889 when Robert Fulton Cutting, treasurer of the Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society, donated $5,000 to Bishop Ferguson to found what became the first private college in Africa. Friends of Cuttington is an IRS Tax Exempt 509 (a) (2) to support and make known the University and its students.
Friends of Cuttington
Since its inception in the early 1960’s, the mission of the Friends of Cuttington (Friends) has been to support the operation of Cuttington University on its four campuses in Liberia, West Africa.
